Who is responsible for your data

This website is published by L-Arka ta’ Noè, an animal park on Triq Bur ix-Xewk, Siġġiewi, Malta. L-Arka ta’ Noè is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us on 7977 7140 or at larkatanoe@gmail.com.

What personal data we collect

• Messages you send us. The enquiry forms on this site do not send anything to a server. They open an email in your own email app, and we only receive it if you send it. We use the name, contact details and message you choose to include to answer you and, for parties and events, to arrange the booking.
• Phone calls and Facebook messages. If you call or message us, we note the details needed to help you, such as a party date.
• Server logs. Like every website, our hosting server records technical details of each request (IP address, browser, page requested, time) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify visitors.
• Analytics, only with your consent. If you allow it in the cookie banner, Google Analytics collects anonymised statistics about how the site is used. See “Cookies” below.

How we use it and the legal basis

• To answer your enquiry and arrange a party or event: steps taken at your request before a contract, and performance of that contract.
• To keep the website secure and working: our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
• Analytics statistics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

Only one thing is stored without asking: a small entry in your browser’s local storage that remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies (kept for 12 months). It contains no personal data.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (for example _ga) to distinguish visitors and measure page views. Google’s Consent Mode is used, so nothing optional runs until you agree. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, also in the footer, and by deleting cookies in your browser. Other services linked from this site

Links to Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram and Malta Public Transport take you to those organisations’ own websites, which have their own privacy policies. No content from those services is embedded here, so they receive nothing from you until you follow a link.

Who your data is shared with

We do not sell personal data. Our web hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf, our email provider stores the emails you send us, and Google processes analytics data if you consent. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

How long data is kept

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to answer them and, for bookings, until the event has passed and any follow-up is complete. Server logs are kept for a short technical retention period. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics account.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent. Security

The website is served over HTTPS and is a static site with no database of visitor data.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the website handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
